I attempted to recreate this bug with a up to date system and was unable
too. It did take a while to load though.

I apologize I must have missed that part of your comment that it
happened in other applications. I would agree with you. However I have a
suspicion that it is not caused by xorg but caused by the nvidia
drivers. This is easy to confirm try disabling the Nvidia Drivers to see
if the problem persists
I verified this is still present on Lucid.

I just saw this come though on Lucid. FWIW I think that "Turn Off" would
be a better wording then "Switch Off" In addition to that I also saw
that this broke unification when logged in and you try to shut down it
states shut down.
