I removed .gnome* and .gconf* from my homedir to make gnome-settings-daemon
work again.
Not sure I had to remove all of them, (just mv, ok) but now it works, and seems
to be blazingly fast compared to what it was before...

I have (had?) a similar problem with my Asus eee pc 900, where it
launched evolotion as soon as I inserted the power cord, however I
disabled the mail hotkey and haven't been bothered by it anymore.

No problem connecting with ipv4 here, even though my netstat -tlp looks similar.
A bigger problem for me is when I'm only reachable via ipv6 and the host isn't
listed in dns I can't connect with vinagre which doesn't accept raw ipv6 host
addresses. (Or am I just wrong in the ipv6 notation?)

Hmm, sorry. After some further investigations I can confirm that vino doesn't
accept connections with "only allow local".
However, this seems to be fixed upstream since a couple of days ago.

Some more info, vinagre can connect to ipv6 addresses entered in the gui, but
not on the command line.
I guess I could hack the command line parser to be able to use ipv6 there too.
One way is ip:v6::adress/port to differentiate from ip.v.4.address:port

I manually installed xserver-xorg-input and gnome, then it all started working
again.
