Yes it's fully reproducible.
STR:
1. Open Evolution.
2. Uncheck the "Calendar and Tasks > Display > Compress weekends in month view"
option
3. Switch to calendar month view
3. Observe that weekends is still compressed

https://bugs.
89_express.patch drops cal-compress-weekends binding from e-week-view and moves
it to e-cal-config-view. May be it's a culprit.
I'll try to build and test with this change reverted later.

I have the same behavior. Evolution doesn't update Indicator Applet about read

And if I delete message without reading, this action have no reflection at

I have looked into the rhythmbox source code.
This behavior is explicitly by design. We must talk with developers to

As I understand it's not a Evolution bug, but a theme bug, already fixed

If I understand this correctly, this is the same issue as upstream bug
#594153 "setting alarms on meetings owned by others is prevented".
There is patch attached to that bug. AFAIK the upstream will not update
2.28, they moved to 2.30. May be Ubuntu will be willing to apply that
patch to it's own
The upstream bug is: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=594153
Don't know how to link this bug to upstream one.
