Public bug reported: Almost every time I try to launch Nautilus – whether via the panel, via the terminal, or by clicking "Open" buttons in programs – it takes close to 1 minute to launch. I have timed it using a watch, and it seems to take between 30 seconds and 1 minute from the relevant button

I have been experiencing the same issue intermittently for probably a year. On my first attempt, the solution proposed in #3 make nautilus open instantly (after clicking the icon once more). Will try this a couple more times in the coming days/weeks and report back further results. -- You receiv

When experiencing the issue over the last couple of weeks, it seems as if the suggested workaround command ($ killall gvfsd-trash) makes the issue go away. (Next time I click on the nautilus icon after running the command it opens instantly.) -- You received this bug notification because you are

Seems to happen whenever I copy media files, may it be music - or, mostly wmv and avi-files. If I leave the target folder open in nautilus, the move is really slow, but if I close the target folder, it finish very quickly.
