looks more like it does a Log Out.

Same thing, Ubuntu 22.04, after updating the kernel to 6.8.0-52-generic
(6.8.0-50 and 51 too) there is no S.M.A.R.T. and disk settings in
gnome-disk-utility
If you switch to kernel 6.8.0-49-generic, then everything works fine

Sorry I thought the milestone change was a mistake before seeing the
comments. We really want this in .2 because it's a shell crash
immediately on login, so it's important to fix in the ISO.
