For a second I thought it worked on pre-released updates but I was
mistaken because X11 session was used. In Wayland, Firefox -> Editor
works, but not to paste in terminal.

I tried pre-released updates (software & updates -> Developer options ->
pre-released updates) on a new installation and this issue seems to be
fixed.
It shouldn't be long when it is available to everybody \o/.

I don't see a fix. The exact scenario happened to me just yesterday:
- AppImage told me to install fuse
- apt install fuse
- crash, purge reinstall needed for gdm3
- correct fuse (fuse3) is installed upon purge
we need gdm3 to actively prevent installing incorrect fuse version, OR
require entire

Same problem here on my laptop, a Thinkpad P14s Gen1 (AMD Ryzen 4750u).
Problem is occurring on a fresh install of Ubuntu 24.04.1 in the Wayland
session, but not on 24.10.
I did not try X11 on 24.04.1, because it is too much of a concession in my

I saw a positive difference in performance for my desktop PC (RTX 2080)
on 24.10 by switching to the Nvidia proprietary 560 driver (not the open
one) and disabling GSP by adding "nvidia.NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0" in
"GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX" and updating Grub.
