shown in the dock, navigating to that folder will break the indicator

Settings > Displays and try turning off the "Unknown" display.

There are no crashes in meta_drm_buffer_gbm_finalize within the top 100
for gnome-shell in any current Ubuntu release. Also 23.10 has reached
end of life. Consider this closed.
