I do not want remove the gnome extensions. I use them. If you would
pinpoint that some of them are causing the issue then please let me

Previously, Shotwell would confusingly refuse to mount my Android phone
as a camera, since Nuatilus would always mount it first. So I would just
copy the files off the phone with Nautilus and *then* import them into
Shotwell.
Since upgrading to 24.04, that has been fixed, but
GNOME 47 doesn't sound sensible because the feature looks way too large
for a stable maintenance branch:

same reason why the SRU team stopped trusting Mutter/Shell point

just chooses the maximum scaling factor to compensate.
