This happens in 24.04, with gdm3 version 46. I confirm this looks fixed

Just to confirm: Yes, I already use "Ubuntu on Xorg". I also checked
"Ubuntu" option (which should mean Wayland) and icons in mentioned
applications are missed, which currently is known bug/limitation of
wayland.
