It's actually miniDP->DVI. I don't have another one of those adapters or
cables. I'll look around for a VGA cable, and try it with my
miniDP->VGA.

Yes please avoid using adapters if you can. They cause a lot of bug
reports. Also please avoid analog VGA connections because they also
cause a lot of bug reports.
Ideally use a pure digital connection: miniDP->(miniDP or DisplayPort or
HDMI). If you still find problems after that then the bug sho

Understood. I don't have access at the moment to a monitor with a DP
input but the VGA adapter with VGA cable works fine, so I assume there
is no bug.

The problem seems to be that gdm-wait-for-drm doesn't work for (muxless)
dual GPU laptops when using the dGPU.
GDM will start when only card1 is available, *both* card0 and card1 need
to be available

Thanks for the bug report. It looks like something has consumed all your
RAM. Most likely that is (usually) a web browser or buggy gnome-shell
extensions.
Please try removing your extensions:
cd /home/shivanya/.local/share/gnome-shell
rm -rf extensions
and then log in again.
Also be careful

For me this happens only when I'm using Blender (2.92 installed via
snap) and when my system is busy (CPU usage is more than 70%) but
because I'm mainly working with blender on my machine that's why this
bug has affected me severely. Before starting my new project (that I'm
currently working on) I
