Same dialog as #3
Set to update, went to make a cup of tea, came back to the locked
screen.
Entered system password to login, then saw the dialog which wouldn't go
away.
Like above, Alt + F2 then entering r fixed it

I have been having the same problem for about a month now after an update.
This is happening on 2 different PC's.
After power up I have to open the tweak tool fonts>scaling factor. I
have to click down one then back up. then the font looks correct. Other
wise everything is larger than it should be

inch laptop after reboot. Text-Scaling is still set to 1.20 in Gnome

Regularly emacs-gtk crashes (reported separately in LP: #1896100) and
with it gnome-shell crashes as well. Since those two crashes happen at
the same time I am assuming that those two events are related. I don't
know what the causal relation is though.
