@James, We understand the difficulties you are facing, but it is better
to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are
bugs. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of
your local Ubuntu community
Thanks, there is no error in that log. Did you trigger the issue and at
what time exactly (to be able to match the log activity)?

Hi, this fix caused a regression in ubiquity: LP: #1892014
Ubiquity doesn't put alt_shift_toggle in XKBOPTIONS anymore, so we
cannot switch to e.g. Greek using Alt+Shift, after going through a
normal installation (or even in the live session).
Are users expected to manually run `dpkg-reconfigure
Still nothing.

I renamed ~/.ssh to ~/.ssh.bak, switched back to gdm3, reboot and it's same.
Still after confirming password I'm landing on gdm login screen.

Deleting the file just fix the issue.

I really hope that performance-related fixes could be backported to
Ubuntu 20.04 so that I would not have to upgrade to 20.10. I have never
upgraded to a non-LTS release since Trusty 14.04.

Indeed, if you prefer long term stability then you should stay on 20.04.
We will be backporting some performance fixes to 20.04 as soon as it is
safe to do so. In fact a couple are coming in mutter 3.36.4 and another
in 3.36.5...
If you want to make 4K significantly faster on 20.04 in a safe way
I doubt GNOME has any intention to support this use case, but in case

hanging starting apps and so I blew it away and rebuilt it, and now
I can't reproduce this nautilus issue.
