I'm using 20.04 and also experience this issue pasting between
applications including Gnome Terminal and Atom (Snap package). I
initially thought the mutter upgrade had resolved the issue but it

Here is a screenshot presenting what it happening. I'm loading webpages
and watching a livestream on Twitch, and nothing is showing up on the
Monitor. I have restarted the PC multiple times since I noticed that,

Possibly worth noting--
I have the default keyboard shortcut set to lock the screen (Super + L).
Using that keyboard shortcut does nothing. However, I am able to lock
the screen by selecting 'Lock' from the gnome-shell menu on the top
navigation bar.

the deactivation of the following extensions solved the issue at my

I have to add now that it only worked once. The second time I manually
triggered the lock screen the same behavior went back. I also
deactivated the Workspace-Matrix extension and it did not help.
So there is more happening under the hood.
