Freeze when changing
I have the same issue. Sometimes programs don't react on mouse clicks, but
mouse cursor working.
I have no idea how to reproduce the issue. But waiting a minute or so resolve
the problem.
At the same moment keyboard, left favorites menu and activities work fine.
Seems this is the issue of gnome-
I'm pretty sure, that there is *really* no extension any more:
* uninstalled all shell extensions (browser interface, command line, even
gnome-shell-extensions)
* cleared $HOME/.cache
* deleted $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/

I switched from gnome-shell to elementary-desktop while waiting for a

I haven't seen this problem in a while. It may have been resolved when
I installed ncsd

Actually this specific issue effects the default Ubuntu session as well.
I did a fresh install of 18.04.2, installed updates, rebooted, and
checked it out to be sure. Then I filed bug #1817625 so one or the other

Actually only a logout is necessary for the UI and volume slider to
respond to the amp change. So I'll add steps to reproduce.

One more difference between the default and flashback sessions is that
the keyboard hot-keys DO work in the default Ubuntu session, but NOT in
the flashback session. So that makes this even a lower priority, and
passes part of the responsibility onto the flashback devs.

I installed gnome-shell 3.30.2-0ubuntu1.18.10.1 on Ubuntu 18.10 and
verified that the Ubuntu and GNOME sessions appear to work fine.
Switching users works too.
