Sorry, spoke too soon. I'm not sure which status to change this to. It
was never confirmed by anyone else, but the traces definitely showed

I have a dual boot with 18.04, the problem also appeared there. I had found an
advice on disabling HPET in the BIOS, but there is no option.
So I tried to enable secure boot (I know it has nothing to do with it), but it
seems to me that the error no longer occurs.
