I've just upgraded ubuntu to 17.10 and got this bug =(
I have 3 monitors (1 laptop and two 2560x1440 monitors)
first is the laptop screen, second is rotated vertically screen and next one is

That's a pretty weird bug. Could you give details on your video
cards/drivers? Also enable gdm debugging by uncommenting the debug line
in /etc/gdm3/custom.conf and reboot, try to log into a wayland session
and then add your syslog?

I am having the same issue here in Ubuntu Budgie 17.10.
The indiactor (progress bar) doesnt show up when copying files (mostly large
files) most of the time. Only shows up sometimes maybe by luck. Have
reinstalled the system twice, yet to no avail.

decision. The copy indicator is a circle icon in the top bar, you can click on

I can't recall gnome-terminal changing anything hereabouts.
I'd still say that if you mix the two copy-pasting methods, it's pretty
much a coincidence if it works in some cases. I'm sure it still doesn't

My fault. A little to quick to hit 'x' in vi. Attached is a new syslog
file that should have debug properly enabled.

To test the issue, I booted in text mode (multi-user.target), logged in
and then started gnome-shell.
Nothing happens (the session doesn't start and the console seems hang).
Via ssh, I ran the killall, saved the .crash file and uploaded to the
following bug:

On my computer the bug manifested itself when I merely connected a USB
flash card, without displaying images. I never use Shotwell but Ubuntu
17.10 insists on opening it when I connect a flash card with photos,
although my settings for photos are on “open directory” as they always
