thought it was because of the new display server but the same thing
happened when using X.
I did a reset of dconf and was then able to login to the GNOME session,
but trying to login to the Ubuntu session
Disabling caribou in system startup doesn't help.

Title:
onscreen keyboard appears whenever i touch touchscreen
To man
I don't know if it's related or not to the problem, but here it goes.
I'm using Ubuntu 17.10 on a laptop that has a Nvidia 540M GPU and also
an onboard Intel GPU. It seems Ubuntu is assigning a monitor for each
(there's an unknown second monitor on my setup and I have no idea where
it came from).

I confirm that disabling caribou in system startup doesn't remedy this,
though on my system it changes the appearance of keyboard from tiny
keyboard in only bottom left of screen to full-width-of-screen keyboard
across the entire bottom of screen.

BEHAVIOR
With Thunderbird in the Ubuntu Dock favorites, a counter will appear in the
top-right showing the number of unread emails or new email notifications. After
reading some of those emails, the counter in the top-right doesn't immediately
go down. After about three or
> I'm a bit surprised at that because this problem never occurred in
17.04 but did so the first time I plugged my phone into 17.10.
I have the exact same experience. Got the error today, haven't had it
before. And when I disconnected the phone the screen went blank for a
few nano seconds.
