2. i quit the session and login under "Ubuntu" => xorg
3. I leave the session and login under Ubuntu Xorg => xorg
4. I deconnect the session and login under "Ubuntu" => Wayland

package, and a suite of gnome-session/gnome-settings packages, which may
also be implicated, support for scaling on HiDPI screens seems to have
partially failed. Partially.

Unfortunately Gtk+ has some bugs with drag-n-dropping. That's why
mainstream gnome-terminal has disabled dnd'ing tabs across windows for

It appears this is "fixed" or has been worked around now in 17.10. By
moving the window buttons to the right hand side, the bubble menu now
has room to be nicely formatted and points straight up. So I think the
issue is now invisible. Can you find any other cases not fixed ye
I thought this can't be a GDM bug, but actually web searches suggest the
"solution" is to switch to lightdm(?). Maybe this is caused by gdm.
