Public bug reported:
Hi,
systemd still kills the swap device sometimes.
I typically avoid lvm and prefer the partition scheme like
/dev/sda1 unencrypted boot
/dev/sda2 luks-encrypted swap
/dev/sda3 luks-encrypted /root
and haven an /etc/crypttab like
sda2_crypt UUID=a5b1de14-00e7-46a2-

I had upgraded from Ubuntu Gnome 14.04 to 16.04. All of a sudden this
issue cropped up! None of my usb sticks would work properly. However,
after following the comments here and running killall nautilus, then
restarting it solved the problem.

A followup on my report about skypeonlinux: It looks like the problem is
related to some user config in this case. If I create a clean user,
gnome-keyring works as expected. However, I wasn't able to find where
exactly the problematic configuration file is located yet.

This is especially relevant now that Ubuntu 17.10 is shipping gnome

Actually, in 17.10 it looks like there is a New Folder option from the
right-most dropdown menu, it's just not obvious because there's only an
icon for it.

Public bug reported:
Mir is not used in most setups, however, libgtk-3-0 depends on libmirclient9
and forces Mir libraries to be present.
Make this dependency optional, please.

I think everyone will agree that Mir is not used by majority of users.
So I don't understand why many packages have hard dependencies on libmir*
packages. I don't want them in my system because I'll never user them.
Make them optional, please.

Thanks for that.
However Mir is still under active development and is supported in
Ubuntu. Mesa is central to that effort and possibly GTK is too. So Mesa
will be set to "Won't Fix" for now. And GTK might also follow.
** Project changed: mir => gtk+3.0 (Ubuntu)

Confirmed the problem seems to be in the clutter plugin:
env -uDISPLAY gst-launch-1.0 filesrc
location=bbb_sunflower_1080p_60fps_normal.mp4 ! qtdemux ! vaapidecodebin
! clutterautovideosink
so a workaround is to avoid clutter:
env -uDISPLAY gst-launch-1.0 filesrc
location=bbb_sunflower_1080p_60f
