Thanks for preparing the SRU! This doesn't seem to be the case for
artful though, is it? Checking the packaging for gnome-shell

I'm on 17.04 fully updated as at 30/5/2017. This is still happening. As
per everything the OP had in 2012, I can confirm the same at this end.
No remounting or editing of permissions changed nautilus' permissions
for me except for:
* Closing nautilus,
* Removing ~/.config/nautilus, *1
* logging
At the time of reporting my system was in a unsupportable half-upgraded
state between Yakkety and Zesty. Obviously given that it's hard to
expect stability, but I've since fixed that and am running a proper
Zesty environment (with Evolution 3.22.6-1ubuntu1). I and am still
seeing the issue.
