FIX:
Finally found a solution that does not require me to disable screen
blanking and turning my monitors off physically:
1. Run dconf-editor
2. org > gnome > settings-daemon > plugins > power
3. "Set to Default" on ALL keys (this sets GNOME to never blank the screen
since "sleep-inactive-ac-tim
3.23.90 works fine
but 3.23.91 is unusable again: login loop, X does not start via tty. Other DEs
also fail.

I created a .toc and toc.bin from a cd using Brasero. I noted that
Brasero used to create a .cue and .bin: I last did this on 19 January
2017. When I try to copy the created .toc, Brasero finds it Ok but then
says that it cannot open each of the audio files in the .toc.bin: pl
I forgot that I'd copied the .toc & .bin files to another directory. I
then used the .toc file in that directory as the Image file to Brasero.
Silly me! What confused me was the default creation of a .toc file where
Brasero used to create a .cue file by default.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up and I only mentioned gedit because someone
mentioned nautilus 3.24 above. Therefore, it would make sense to match
