- shortcut keys are always showing in right click menu (no way to disable this
either!)
- The dividers seem very visually awkward now in the right click menu, on 16.04
is was very flat, now on 16.10 its very deep and gouging to look at.

when a file transfer or action happens and finish.

Bronson, this bug is only about the "New Document" feature. I don't
think any of the other stuff you mentioned is directly related to this
issue. Please file a separate bug for each separate issue. That will

I've the impression this is due to nautilus not being properly resized
when display size changes (in a VM) or a new one is added...
nautilus -q
and starting the filemanager again should fix this.

When I rename in nautilus, the file name (not including extension name)
will be cleared automatically. It is counter-productive when I want do
make minor change to the file name, for example pluralizing.
Unfortunately this case is one big use case.
Auto clearing the filename
I see this immediately after upgrading from 16.04 to 16.10. It's also
the case with the result area in gnome-calculator. A screenshot is
attached.

I did a test. I built the same program with gcc5 and gcc6, then I
compared the output of "readelf -a". It happens that Nautilus is right.
gcc on Ubuntu 16.10 creates a shared library by default instead of an
executable (the Type field in the ELF header is different).
