I have GEdit in the launcher, when I click on it the icon blips as
usual, but the GEdit window never comes up. If I try to start it from

If I create an SSHFS share while having a Nautilus window open it shows the
mount in the sidebar (and on the desktop) and I can access the share without
problem.
However, If I make the share without a Nautilus window open (or if I close all
Nautilus windows after the share

then done from the desktop icon that is created for the share.

Same here. On upgrading from 15.10 to the 16.04 b2 the Gnome Software
app shows a shopping bag icon and 'No Application Data Found' on the All
tab. Installed tab shows nothing. Blank screen. And the Updates tab
shows a check icon and 'Software is up to date'.

to restart WftO. This time the game loaded without an issue and I was
able to play it. Nothing seemed wrong with the Steam interface either.

That is something I tried out some time back. That is not installed on my
system now.
I now understand where that bug report may apply now.

In Ubuntu 15.10, using Nautilus 3.14.2, following the above steps the
invisible folder is created, however, it also creates an Untitled folder
as well.
To prove that the invisible folder is being created:
- make a new folder that starts with a period (.testfolder)
- go into terminal, and do ls -la
