Could the 'open with' be made optional? Default off for the people who
find it offending. And the ability to turn it on in preferences. I miss
this option allmost daily.

usb_modeswitch doesn't work after upgrade from udev-204-5ubuntu20.9 to
udev-204-5ubuntu20.10. Downgrading to udev-204-5ubuntu20.9 solves the
problem.

Yes, that is related to cat /dev/urandom. The random characters have
random ANSI escape codes in them which changes your terminal
configuration.
This is perfectly normal, and you just need to blindly type "reset" to
fix it.

Same problem on Ubuntu 14.04 with a hp_photosmart_5520 and LibreOffice :
duplex printing work fine with evince but has zero effect in
LibreOffice. When I configure it in the OO.o's printing box (A4duplex,
two-sided long-edge) and click OK, these parameters are immediatly
forgotten.

I'm using Xubuntu with the panel at the bottom of the screen and I have
fixed the scroll problem by removing xfce4-indicator-plugin and
indicator-application (I also removed all Unity indicator-* packages).
This way Xfce can directly use the notification area. Another solution
was to use dbus-launc

might have been fixed around gvfs_1.22 when the Ubuntu 14.04.1 that I

Hi Gunnar,
thank you for your support. I did know about the altgr+c option. However, it is
unacceptable for touch-typists.
Also, not every keyboard has the altgr key and, anyway, the 'c combination is
the standard combination for
brazilian typists, so it would be very nice to have an additional
@Leandro: did you try the fix I proposed on #61?
Using uim and a custom .Xcompose will solve your issue with 'c (and all
others), no patch required.

Most interesting-at least for me-is that the keyboard configuration works OK
if, after login in with a gnome classic desktop -now the keyboard layout is
WRONG, id est, USA while it should be SPANISH - I close the session, log in
again with the standar Ubuntu desktop - the one i dont want to use
