I experience the same issue with Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and a Wiko Bloom with

(browsing within Gnome to find the share), gvfsd-smb uses up to 50% CPU
which slows down the entire system when accessing the network share.

I tried Michael Clare's post (#44) that syncing the iPod with a proper
iTunes software will make said device work with Linux...and it actually
worked! I could connect my iPod Touch (2nd Gen) and add music through
Rhythmbox. HOWEVER, after I downloading an app to the device from the
App Store, it
I bought a new laptop, installed 14.04 and it works fine, 14.10 I see
this problem. I think it's ibus... I will try that workaround.

Odd pattern: I turn phone USB Debugging off, then on again --> the phone
