1) Start the gnome-system-monitor
2) Select the menu item 'preferences'
3) Observe the value of 'update interval' on any of the three tabs. It is
'0,00' eventhough the interval is set to some other value

Disabling the unload is the best guess yet, although I do not know how
and why the rest of the plugin can still work then. ;) But I can figure

I use Trusty Thar. After disconnecting the LAN cable and plugging in
another, nautilus will not restart. Also in the Terminal, when using
"top" program, then a process consuming 100% of CPU power, is called
"gvfsd-sftp".
It seems, that this is not an invalid issue. Because it is reproducible.

FYI, using FAT32 as filesystem does not cause the issue. As I reported,
mounting FAT32 add the "flush" mount option which probably avoids the
above issue. I have updated the bug title accordingly. I suspect that
adding the same manually instead of "sync" as suggested in previous
comment as workarou
Just wanted to comment that the only way I discovered this feature was
via this bug. I've been opening images I wanted to resize in Gimp to do
it all these years...

Looks good. I not only tested to be sure this bug was eliminated in
Ubuntu GNOME but since Tim added a bit more I cross-tested in Ubuntu to
be sure we weren't creating some new bug.
When Edubuntu resumes 14.04 daily builds (assuming they'll have a
14.04.1) I will however test to be certain that th
I ran into this aswell on Saucy.
Some hints in the upstream bug report helped me to find a work around, though:
Use dconf-editor, go to org/gnome/empathy/conversation and replace the "de" in
"spell-checker-languages" with "de_DE". Seems to do the trick.
