Been using 14.04 for a few days, maybe 2 weeks now, and initially it

I finally find myself the solution. It was due to my proxy settings in the
system configuration.
In fact, there is no graphical way to ignore hosts in the ubuntu proxy
settings, so my proxy was used even on my local network.
