The difference I am seeing in my situation is that when I remove the
duplicate google account that is failing to authenticate, I can no
longer use the Accounts window. It opens, then immediately closes.

I have Ubuntu 13.10. I have selected English US as my language. The
system is i586/64-bit. After I login, I get a notification in another
language (looks Arabic).

The backtrace frame filters require patches that are only shipped on
Fedora, it will however be available upstream in gdb 7.7
This adds a patch to ignore the frame-filter stuff. Pretty printers
still work

Fully agree on splitting the thing. One question, though: what do you
think about installing the binaries in a different location (or with a
different name), and have /usr/bin/gnome-control-center as a shell
script that checks if we are running under unity (is that
DESKTOP_SESSION=ubuntu?) and exec
