Fresh install of ubuntu-gnome 13.10, my lock screen is extremely slow

It seems that is fixed for the first login of a created user using first
unity and then gnome-panel.
But if you create a user and directly log in using gnome-fallback with

The Diamondville Intel Atom N270 x86 sub-notebook processor is a single-
core CPU. The netbook has only one of these CPU
gnome-settings-daemon listens to the media keys (and also speaks mpris
if no player grabbed them), it should be responsible for doing this as
well.
