Installed Mint15_64 and Evolution 3.6.4 and similar problem. Evolution
will get stuck trying to retrieve an email. Killing process does not
resolve the problem as the empty window persists - by that I mean the
emails, icons and other functions disappear but the overall window
persists.

However my /home directory was under NFS. With this workaround I solved
my situation:

there are some situations where closing the window seems to make sense,
e.g. if the window automatically opened when USB/optical media was

Manish, maybe you're still on 13.04 because Mines and Disk Usage
Analyzer have high contrast icons in 13.10. Software Updater will be
fixed in the next release of gnome-themes-standard.
Disks is fixed in 3.8 so we either update to 3.8 (LP: #1092719) or we
