Turning on the computer (it was fine before, no updates installed) I got some
messages about widgets that failed to load (happened before so I ignored it)
andthen the desktop was unusable. Gnome panel was sucking 100% and the panels
were totally unresponsive. Tried

I followed the suggestion in bug 545521 and removed everything under
~/.gconf/apps/panel/general and ~/.gconf/apps/panel/toplevels, rebooted and
then everything worked (but all customization was lost of course).

I see this behaviour on one of our 10.04.4 x86 clients. The share is
located on a windows 2000 ad controller. The bug shows itself when
single-clicking on the windows share bookmark.
Sometimes just waiting a few seconds and then clicking again on the
bookmark makes the connection work.

Firstly, I have never used auto-login on this computer. Secondly, even
if I had, the "AutomaticLoginEnable=False" line reflects that auto-login
was not turned on when I performed the upgrade. And thirdly, even if it

PDF Signature verification support
Here's an initial attempt at solving this issue.
This patch adds signature verification support to poppler core.
It uses OpenSSL PKCS7 API for the crypto operations (signature and certificate

OK, I can see the problem for poppler in terms of licensing.
A quick evaluation of the alternatives:
gnutls seems to be unsuited for this because it doesn't have a decent PKCS7 API
that would allow me to parse the signature and access each component.
I've only found this in the docs:

What's missing in gnutls is a way to parse all the relevant components
of the PKCS#7 object as present in a PDF signature.
It seems that in gnutls they assume those objects can only contain
certificates and CRLs as you can confirm if you go through the functions
that take gnutls_pkcs7_t as argumen
Regarding the dlopen workaround I'll take a look at it this week.
I'll try to minimize the pitfall of possible missing/different symbols
by targeting only the last major version of openssl (1.0).

I get this problem still. I am running XFCE 4.10 and i see the error
when i do git clone or git pull. Following is the error
"git pull
