I marked the status in skype4empathy as "Fix Committed" because of Eion
Robb's comment that he fixed it in r629 of upstream. I'll also mark the
status of affecting the package "empathy" in Ubuntu as invalid as per
Lee Hyde's comment.

A build of the vanilla upstream project does NOT exhibit this behavior,
so I do believe this is a Ubuntu bug, not eligible for triage.
In particular, the gnome-terminal binary that is arrived at through this
