When closing the lid, my system doesn't suspend although configured to do so

- Pressing suspend on the bar works.
- /etc/acpi/lid.sh gets called but only turns off the screen

this happens for me with videos as well, .avi from a "KODAK EASYSHARE C183",
and also with videos created from video editors.
The only problem with using Shotwell to change the video date is that i don't
think it saves to the file, so it is still incorrect when viewed in another
application/OS.
Public bug reported:
new BT dongle is very flaky. If it will pair, whenever it is used to
send any data, it freezes the machine (flashing caps lock and num lock
leds). The only way to get it back is to press and hold the power
button. I have 2 other dongles which work fine. It announces itself as

For me this was caused by an x11 error: badvalue (integer parameter out
of range for operation) 0
I solved it by opening gstreamer-properties and changeing the video
plugin to no Xv.

The work around is to simply create a ~/.xbindkeys.noauto file (note the
leading period on the file name). This will prevent the Xsession
startup script from launching xbindkeys
I had the locate cursor option turned on for at least a week before this
bug bit me. For some reason, though other programs are ok (I'm sure I
used Ctrl+Z in lots of other tools), Ctrl+Z in Blender was interpreted
as just plain 'Z', which toggles wireframe instead of Undo-ing. Turning

Bug 930672 has been marked as a duplicate, so I just wanted to point out
that this most recently occurred for me using the i386 20120211 Precise
Ubuntu iso after installation, then installing 'gnome-session-fallback',
logging out and choosing Classic (No effects) from the login menu.
