I have the same problem on jabber (XMPP).
First time somebody talk to me via Empathy, and my Empathy chat window is
closed, the message icon changes to color blue.
After opening the chat window, I don't receive notifications anymore. The
message icon stay on it's default color.

When I first click on the messaging icon and then on "chat" after
starting my computer, te empathy icon appears for a split second on my
dock before disappearing. I believe this behavior is caused by this
bug. How can I test it now that apport is no longer enabled?

Hello,
I tried lots of scenarios but I am not able to reproduce the problem
again with the patched version. As Jo reports that the patch is not
present in a clean system, I'm quite sure that I lost track of which
version actually was on the system when I noticed the problems. So
