nowhere in the settings to remove it. Of course, you can get rid of the old
icon by removing empathy from the systray whitelist using dconf-editor. But
for me it's easiest to set that to 'all' because I have a few prog

Actually the heuristics that manage what to do when hotplugging is in
the gnome control utilities (gnome-rr.c in gnome-desktop). Sounds like
it's not handling things as you expect; refiling (there is no 'xrandr'
package anymore).

Oh, hang on, I think I thought about this all wrong. "en_GB" *is* a
correct value, but not for $LANG, but for $LANGUAGE; What you select in
control-center is a language, _not_ a locale. So lightdm should not
assing the "Language" accountsservice property to $LANG, which is what
is causing all this
