it is still an issue. I attempted again a couple days ago without success.
however, i did get a message this time suggesting i install a 'decoder' (?)
program. something about a licenses being a barrier. i tried to get that
message to reappear but without success.

After getting this error, my desktop looked like an odd mix of Unity and
KDE...I logged out and logged back in, and things seem to have resolved,
so possibly just a one time upgrade issue. Given this error is reported
a bazillion times and this wasn't a serious issue, I'm closing this bug.
