By following the steps provided I was able to reproduce this in Oneiric,
and Natty for that matter. Note that the + sign on the left has been
replaced by a triangle, but it still behaves like described above.
Someone should probably forward this to the nautilus developers.

Find out your icq account name:
mc-tool list | grep icq
mc-tool update bool:use-ssl=0
