I agree with those that say that the USER should be the one deciding how
his user interface works.
Telling me what my user interface should like like is why I switched
from windows.

You have got to be kidding me. What is the point of LTS then? I cannot
simply "update my machine." I am running LTS in a production
environment. I am supposed to be relying on the vaunted rock-solid
stability of LTS. Lucid has several years to go in its life span.

I can confirm that resizing at 1/5 of the original size can cause the
appearance of some artifacts.
I have tried with the sizes you have been using, and with an original size of
1000x1000.
I have also tried with a 1200x1200 picture resized to 200x200, and the same
problem occurs. Maybe the range
