Affects me but I found a workaround : my keyboard is french and was set
as french _alternate_. French alternate inserts insecable spaces in
place of regular spaces with the space bar. Setting i back to regular

I have multiple users myself, my wife and kids, when it happens to me and i
ctrl-alt-f1 I can get in, I switch to graphic mode and then
the login screen pops up, if I login as anyone else in the family I can get in

Confirmed / reproduced on ipad 2 running iOS 4.3.3. Sync transfers
files to the itunes_control folder but does not update database, thus
ipod app does not list the music. Same issue for both Rhythmbox &
Banshee on 11.04 with libimobiledevice1 version 1.0.6

I've found a workaround for those who might need it:
Edit /etc/UPower/UPower.conf and change the line at the bottom
"IgnoreLid=false" to "IgnoreLid=true".

Bug 792999 in Oneiric seems somewhat similar to this bug (it's also a
metacity crash, and also a SIGABRT in __kernel_vsyscall()), though the
stack traces (incomplete in both cases, at least so far) don't seem
particularly similar.

Binary package hint: nautilus
While trying to move files to file-name encrypted file systems, nautilus
gives error "file name too long"
This would be improved by offering the user the chance to rename the
file at destination. I'd rather not have the 256 char limit...
