I had similar symptoms to the ones mentioned above. A single click
worked like two very quick single clicks (and not a double click). This
was of course not showing up on my other Linux Laptop or when used with
any other OS.
In the end it turned out to be because of having both an external USB
mou
FWIW: Sean Fenton's advice about disabling sync_to_vblank in gconf-
editor seems to have done the trick: I just left my laptop on overnight
with Transmission running (which was a recipe to activate the bug) and
it came back no problem.

Found the problem, at build time gnome-games checks what distro this is,
to work out what packages to install.
The build log shows:

So we just need to add lsb-release to the build-depends

battery state is always on AC power if the laptop is booted on battery.

Hi,
just to add a comment about this issue: some years ago we experienced a
similar problem with the Italian translation of xchat-gnome, and the
problem was really related to the translation. If I'm not wrong, there
could be problems with the strings in xchat-gnome that look like this
one:
msgid
Man, I don't know how to use bzr but I've been in touch with the gnome
guys and the fix is really easy.
I've downloaded the gnome-python-desktop-2.30.0 src package.
Here's a relevant diff
