I just had the same problem with gmail contacts in evolution on natty.
Not only evolution is freezing, mouse doesn't work anymore, hitting a
terminal and "pkill evolution" gets everything back to normal.

Having the same bug, but I rarely use nautilus or play music, so I'm not
sure what the trigger is for step 4 in my case. The last time it
happened, I think I used nano+suspend+suspend, so maybe the suspend
breaks sshfs in my case, since my internet connection dies when I
suspend, but sshfs is stil
nvm, I just managed to reproduce this bug on maverick without a step 4.
Just sshfs stopped multiload-applet from allowing suspend. Full
command: sshfs -o gid=`id -g` -o idmap=user -o
"ControlPath=/tmp/sshfs.cse" cse: ~/cse -o
PreferredAuthentications=password -o reconnect

Yesterday I did a fresh install of 11.04 amd64 and I can confirm that
the bug is still present in both Unity and Classic, with or without
Compiz. Using Abe's Alt key tip, I managed to setup Evolution. Labels
also disappear when adding a new account and resizing the Evolution
Account Assistant windo
I have the same bug after a recent update with 10.10. I have to right
click folders and Open with > Dolphin to use them. Also right clicking
folders and selecting properties won't work on the desktop but will in
dolphin. Opening a terminal and typing nautilus makes the desktop blink.

Actually, in the .dvdcss case and the "test" case, no data was lost. I
noticed that it crashes more often when I am performing many operations
quickly using keyboard shortcuts. If I slow down, I can't replicate it.
Data was still lost in the two instances initially reported.

one.
jhansonxi's fix doesn't work for me.
I'm using system-tools-backends 2.10.1-2ubuntu1, so maybe Milan's fix
will flow down soon?
