I was testing it again with a prepaid mobile Internet USB stick. I went to
suspend and disconnected the stick, while the netbook was sleeping. Before
resume I connected the stick again. With the results:

I think this is a duplicate (or replicate) of bug 25529. Yet it seems
that https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=123408 is a potential
root of the problems.
It seems that various users are reporting the same issue with several
Gtk(?) apps.

I'm able to reproduce this bug with brasero 2.32.1-0ubuntu2 on a Natty
i386 system (running a standard Unity desktop), and it seems to follow
the same pattern I described above.
