The ubuntu-sounds patch does not seem to have an effect on my system. I
am not convinced that phone-incoming-call.ogg is a better test sound.
The sounds in /usr/share/sounds/alsa are much better for a speaker test.

I wasn't really doing anything. I was hoping that the auto-report stuff
would be useful. Perhaps restarting Firefox with Flash in use caused

If I use GStreamer with ALSA only or a non-GStreamer media player with
PulseAudio it sounds just fine. The problem also goes away when using
something like module-combine in PulseAudio which leads me to believe
that this has something to do with the ALSA drivers as well.

Still happening gang. I know the reader and DVD both work as I have
been able to watch ripped DVDs from it. This Netflix-provided DVD is
not working at all which is the definite of "crap".

to find it, and without it, I am more prone to switch back to mutt or

I see corruption as well, when I right click on the desktop I often get
this result:

Happens to me as well with natty in virtualbox, running unity (3d).
Disabling 3d accelration and using gnome classic doesn't affect the bug. It's
there as well.

so i chose the notification area.
"USA Alternative international (former us_intl)" keeps appearing as the default
