I am having the same problem here. I also use Ubuntu 9.10. I am running
it on a Dell latitude E6400. I have 3 gigs of ram. This has one of those
obnoxious on-board Intel video cards that shares memory with the system
ram. Maybe that has something to do with it. It used to work fine. It

I recently installed ubuntu 10.10 and setup the empathy that comes with it as
default version.
Once I entered some Lotus Sametime communities I found my groups were not
showing up in Empathy.

I had this issue until I actually visited the "username" page. For
example, follow these steps.
- Set up Facebook account in Empathy with username "UserName"
- Try to connect with Empathy (Authentication Failed)
- Visit http://facebook.com/UserName
- Try to connect with Empathy (Success!)

Of course I realized about 2 minutes after submitting that the string
returned from g_file_get_basename() must be freed after use with g_free.
This patch should be used in place of the previously submitted patch.

I use the dust theme. When I click “maximize” in evolution or kmymoney,
it just removes the window border, but it does not resize the window. It
looks like a maximized windows, but it is not one. I guess this has to
do with metacity.
