No, they're not hidden files, that's what a leading period is for. I
filed the bug because a user had a folder (!) completely disappear
after moving it to a share, which they could view fine when it was
local.

I finally found a work-around on the net, using google (

Hi there, I've attached those log files, but from Ubuntu 10.10 (it still
has this bug).
Btw, I don't think this bug is directly connected to gnome-power-manager,
because brightness-up key doesn't work even without X and g-p-m:
the screen just flickers while pressing the key.

Hi all, I am reopening this bug, and would like some people to try
opening the JPG file with eog attached to this post.
I had this problem with some files... but the problem seems more or less
intermitent. But with this file, almost all the time. You can also try
to open the file with the command

In Evo, I select EMPTY TRASH and nothing happens.
I noticed that all the trash items were previously marked as junk

Last week I was on a presentation connecting to a beamer.
Not just the panel frozen - complete desktop - had to restart gdm.
Fortunately it happened only the first time, then while connected it
worked (although xrandr did not find the correct resoluton).
