I have a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit.
While copying a vew hundred GB of data from one partition to another, I
noticed that Nautilus was using about 1 GB of RAM (out of 4 GB).
After the transfer finished the usage remained the same.

Just checked for any new versions, of which there was nothing. Ran the
same command as Tobias and got the same result for gnome-keyring, so I
ran apt-get clean, then aptitude reinstall.
The issue is definitely still present on my system.

Hi Jeff after download the cd ISO of ubuntu 10.10 from this page
http://releases.ubuntu.com/maverick/ you can use this simple guide
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/FromUSBStick to create a
bootable usb of ubuntu and can try ubuntu 10.10 :)

DVD icon disappeares when music cd inse
When I upgrade from 10.04 to 10.10, the error still appeared. I created
a new user, moved over all my documents (but not my preferences) and the
error no long occurs. So it appears something corrupted a vital
preference but I'm not sure what. The user account that still has the
error on my machine
