Ok, I must apologize. I still have the memory leak.I was running
the wrong gnome-power-manager. A little while ago I accidentally
installed g-p-m from the upstream release into /usr/local/bin. This was
overriding the standard Ubuntu g-p-m in /usr/bin.

Due to dbus-glib -> GDBus conversion, it seems like whereas dbus-glib
includes got used in the past implicitly, it needs to be explicit now.

The following change to samba config file (etc/samba/smb.conf) fixed this
problem for me mounting windows shares.
Change workgroup to your domain.
