I didn't change anything, no reason for it. I run this configuration flawless
since 2009.
I've booted today and the issue occured.
Removing .gconfd/saved_state didn't help.

Since the follow on change was directed by the same Canonical manager
that directed the original change, I think claiming this bug pointed any
technical issues to anyone is stretching things.
This change was only needed because a late change was pushed into the

I agree. My point was that this isn't a usual bug where someone finds a
problem and then resources need to be brought onto the problem to identify and
resolve it. This is a case where the usual processes were bypassed to do
something that at best hadn't been fully considered.

Personally I'm quite disappointed this is not the default. I think it's
a great idea, that subtly tells people about Ubuntu. It's easy, and
always was, to turn off for those that like to hide their light under a
bushell. For the rest of us, and I suspect most of the people who
thought it a good ide

In Ubuntu 10.10 with Unity, I cannot click on the exact same place on
the panel twice. After clicking, further clicks, until the mouse is
moved, do nothing. This happens with everything, from the notification
area to the global menu.
