For me, if I removed indicator-applet, and use the Notification Area to store
the notification icons, the icon would be shown as an invalid red cross.
For your information, I use a customised Tango icon set.

I went back and re read the comments. I originally skimmed over your comment
and thought you were saying that the problem was when you had the archives
open. But now I get what you were saying.
I try to mount archive(with name in wrong encoding) and it's crash after
1 second after mounting. Apport can't take info about this crash, but I
think it's same problem you talking about.

Workaround 2 had no effect either, but inverting the setting of
