Yes. I've just installed Lucid. When I try to stop gdm, I get a few
lines and below "checking battery state..." is a blinking cursor. I'm
trying to install a Nvidia driver for my GE Force 9800 GT (new). The

I found it was missing another package, so I've installed it: the package is
"File Sharing" (service for file sharing). Now I can share folders using
Nautilus.

On y eeepc 900 with 1024x600 evolution is my favourite and only email
reader. It is certainly not unusable.

How to reproduce :
- Mount the network share in Nautilus as usual
- On a WiFi network, scan for a big music collection in Rhythmbox which is
located on the network share
- After a while gvfs will not handle the workload and will crash with this
error message.

I am definitely not having this happen by pressing shift-numlock, but I
connect to this computer (Ubuntu 10.04) with VNC (Remote Desktop) every

First of all, as stated in comment #2, insufficient information was provided
and the reporter was asked to submit a new bug report.
Secondly, this bug is no longer present in Nautilus. It was fixed in at least
2.28, maybe even 2.26.

It seems there is also a problem with copying files from the share. I
tried to copy a small file from the share to my desktop. Nautilus gave
me a popup saying that memory allocation failed. I have over 1 GB of
free RAM.

This is still a significant problem on my current 10.04.1 with full
updates and highly respectable specs (although the remote PC has low
specs). It's not quite unusable but close to.
I am linked to the "remote" computer by a 100Mbps router with very
little network activity.

I'm still seeing this issue in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (x86_64), after I
started apport and tried to collect information on the crash is
complaining about not being able to send the information due to dropbox-
nautilus (though I see a /var/crash/nautilus file now), I'll try to see
if I can found something
